LITTLE MAK™ (10 x 30 mm Monocular)

The Little Mak is a unique Monocular/Telescope. Its optical design (with multi coated optics) is Maksutov Gregorian (the smallest Maksutov design scope on the market). This design does not require the use of additional lenses, mirrors or prisms to give a fully erect image. Thus, this instrument is made more rugged, because there is no erecting system to come out of alignment. Another important feature is that this instrument uses a mirror to magnify the image, not a lens. A lens will produce false colors (chromatic aberration) and field curvature. It won't be as sharp at the edge of the field of view as the center, but the Little Mak does not have this problem: it is as sharp at the edge as it is in the center. This produces a tack-sharp image. Small enough to fit into a shirt pocket, purse, backpack, etc. – it makes the ideal pocket pal. Finish: black or blue star map. |
