Moscow, 11:00 a.m., 1 October 2008. Dnepr LV (a converted SS-18 ICBM) with THEOS SC aboard was successfully launched from Yasny Launch Base several minutes ago.

At 10:37 a.m. Moscow time (6:37 a.m. UTC) Dnepr LV lifted off from Yasny Launch Base situated in the Orenburg Region, Russia. It is the eleventh successful launch of the converted SS-18 ICBM carrying commercial payload under the Dnepr Program and the second one in 2008.

THEOS SC, successfully launched into orbit, had been developed and produced by EADS Astrium (France, Toulouse) for Geo-Informatics and Space Technology Development Agency of Thailand (GISTDA). Earth remote sensing SC is to solve applied tasks in such spheres as cartography, lend tenure, monitoring of agricultural activity, forestry, littoral zone and its protection from flood. Contract for the launch of THEOS SC was concluded between ISC Kosmotras and Eurockot, Germany.

A new fuelling station and clean room 2 were used during the THEOS launch campaign at Yasny Launch Base. Nowadays, Yasny Launch Base meets the world's strictest requirements in power supply, air cleanliness, temperature and humidity conditions.

ISC Kosmotras is happy to congratulate everyone who took part in preparation and execution of THEOS launch and continues to implement other Projects. ISC Kosmotras' stock of orders contains signed contracts for five more launches scheduled for up to 2011 both from Baikonur Cosmodrome and Yasny Launch Base. On 29 September, 2008, Dnepr LV with 5 RapidEye satellites was launched from Baikonur.
