|
Three space launches under Dnepr Program were performed during less than 3 months, two of which were carried out within mere six days.
European Space Agency’s (ESA) CryoSat-2, launched on 8 April, was the first satellite delivered to orbit from Baikonur Cosmodrome in 2010. Later on, on 15 June, Dnepr launch vehicle blasted off from Yasny Launch Base injecting into orbit Swedish Space Corporation’s (SSC) Prisma and French Space Agency’s (CNES) Picard satellites, as well as BPA-1 National Space Agency of Ukraine inseparable payload. Launch of German Aerospace Centre’s (DLR) TanDEM-X spacecraft from Baikonur on 21 June closes this list.
As a result of all launches, the spacecraft were injected into their respective target orbits with the highest level of accuracy.
What matters above all is the pace of work achieved under the Dnepr Programme thanks to availability of two launch bases, their well-developed infrastructure, accumulated experience and proved work of all Programme participants.
