SHM configuration
Depending on requirements of a specific launch mission, ISC Kosmotras offers several configurations of the Dnepr Space Head Module (SHM), where customer’s payload will be accommodated.
A typical SHM is composed of a head fairing, intermediate cylindrical section, adapter, bottom protective membrane and gas-dynamic shield.
Three baseline Dnepr SHM configurations are:
- Standard length SHM for accommodation of a group of small satellites;
- Standard length SHM for accommodation of a mid-size satellite;
- Extended length SHM for accommodation of a large-size satellite.
Various Types of Space Head Module
The SHM configuration is selected based on the type of the launch mission: dedicated, cluster (multiple small satellite) or shared (primary payload and a piggyback). Specific layout of payload envelope may be optimized at the payload/launcher adaptation phase.
