International astronauts are those individuals from international space agencies who have trained or served with NASA Astronauts. Astronaut assignments and category definitions (e.g., "active" astronauts, "management" astronauts) are contained in a separate Flight Operations Directorate (FOD) policy letter. Former astronauts are those who are no longer employed by their agency.
