Download Izmccd (~2.7 MB).

Using of program.

If you want to calculate equatorial coordinates of object:

• Click the "File" menu, and then click "Open"; or press  on toolbar. Choose a file with image.
The file must be in "FITS"  format. Also see section "Viewing of image".
Note. Before, if it is necessary, you must make an account dark current and flat field (See section "Preliminary processing of images".)

• Identify a star field. From the "Calculation" menu, select the "Identification" command, or toolbar .
In the dialog box set the following values.
1) Catalogue. Choose TYCO-2, USNO or UCAC2. (Section "Catalogues" of the dialog box.) Version USNO at work with CD or hard disk are USNO A, at work through the Internet are USNO B.
2) Equatorial coordinates of a centre of the image. ("Centre").
Note. You should specify coordinates within half of size of the field.
3) Size of area from the catalogue. It is recommended to not change these values.
4) Minimum and maximum of stars magnitude.
5) Location of files with the catalogues; a hard disk, CD or Internet. In the latter case, your computer must be connected to Internet.
Note. The program uses the same settings of connection as Internet Explorer.
Press "OK"button in this dialog box.
There will be an automatic identification of the stars field. Press "OK". If the identification was made successfully, the window will appear:

Press "OK". In result all stars from the catalogue will be marked by green circles.
See here more in detail about a designation of objects on the image.
If the field was not identified.

• Measure the marked stars. This is the menu "Calculations, Measure marked", or .

• On the "Calculations" menu, click "Measure"or  . If the image of object has the form of a stroke (fast object) instead choose "Calculations, Stroke".
Then click image of an object (minor planets, comets or other). Thus you measure this object. A red circle will mark the object. (You can measure several objects.) See here about searching of objects.

• Determine equatorial coordinates. Click the "Calculations" menu, and then click "Coordinates" or . The window will appear:

A coordinates and star’s magnitudes are output in this window. Also these data are output in  file MPCReport.txt. The format of this file corresponds to the standard accepted by Minor Planets Centre (MPC). More detailed information is included in  file izmccd.log. (Measuring coordinates in pixels, plate constant, residuals for reference stars and other. For more details see section "Formats of files".) If you want to receive the best result for yours CCD frames, look section "Control and improvement of accuracy of results".

If you observed minor planets or comets, the data from the file "MPCReport.txt" should be send by email in Minor Planets Center.
