IX.2. Data retrieval

If you select Select item, the Data retrieval from observatory list dialog box will appear. Click on one of two radio buttons to the left of data fields intended for observatory code or name and introduce the required data. In case of observatory name it is possible to introduce its fragment.

If number of missing observatory is introduced, the result contains nothing but number.

In case name of observatory or its fragment is introduced, result can contain none, one, or several lines. In the first case try to find necessary observatory by another fragment of its name. If the result contains several possibilities, choose that which corresponds to your idea.

If it is necessary to enter new observatory into the list, mark one of the entries with missing data and select Edit in drop-down menu. String editor makes it possible to enter data on the observatory in accordance with adopted format. The same actions should be done in case data on some observatory are in need of correction. Corresponding values of parallax constants, dxy and dz, can be calculated in advance by the use of Calculate option.

To enter changes you made into operating catalogue of observatories give positive answer in response to question if you like to save changes in the observat.dat file. If you like to save changed catalogue in text file or print it, select File item in menu bar and then Save as... or Print item in drop-down menu.

NOTE:Paper size different from A4 is not recommended: in this case the part of data can be out of print area. If printer resolution is lower then 300 dpi then problems can occur when printintig text in Portrait mode. In this case Landscape mode should be selected.
