II.4. Table of elements

The table of elements represents sets of elements in increasing order of minor planet numbers. The designations of elements arranged in columns are indicated in the table header (see II.1 Basic concepts.). In case additional function is ordered it is arranged in the rightmost column. If the table window is too narrow to see some elements, one can move necessary columns to the left. To do so, place cursor on the border between columns in the header, press left key of mouse and draw the borderline as far as necessary.

In the column of G (slope parameter) the default value of the parameter equal to 0.15 is indicated as “X” to distinguish it from value 0.15 obtained by photometric observations (see (89) Julia, (419) Aurelia)).

Values of absolute magnitude H are given for different planets with different number of decimals in conformity with precision with which they have been determined (see ADDENDUM).

To sort content of the table in ascending or descending order of any element, click on designation of the element in the header and select Sort Up or Sort Down in drop-down menu. When sorting, values of X and 0.15 are not distinguishable, therefore planets with value of G equal to 0.15 are situated not immediately after planets with G = 0.14, but somewhere among planets with G = X.

When sorting minor planets according to names/preliminary designations the resulting table is arranged in lexicographic order.

At the extreme right of status bar the total number of objects in the table is indicated.

User has possibility to save the file with elements, to print it using standard means or to turn to the construction of histograms or distributions of minor planet elements. To save the file select File item in menu bar and then select Save As... in drop-down menu. Choose the drive and folder where you want to save the file. To see the list of files with desirable extension in chosen folder define the type of extension with the help of File type drop-down list at the bottom of the dialog box. Mark by slider one of two possible types of extension: “.elm“ (“Elements”; this one is actual in default of specification) or “.*(all files). Mark necessary file in the displayed list of files with chosen extension. The name of the file will appear in File name dialog box. Click on Save button to save the file.

In case you want to save the file with new name type it in the File name dialog box. Possible extension for files with new names is “.elm”. Click on Save button to save the file.

To print the results select File item in menu bar and then Print item.

NOTE: Because the table of elements is very wide, Landscape mode is set automatically. Paper size different from A4 is not recommended: in this case the part of data can be out of print area.

Having obtained some selection of minor planets according to value of their elements, user has possibility to construct their frequency distribution by value of any element within this selection.
