VI.5. Plot of plate

Plot of plate represents the central projection of the specified region of the sky on the plane tangent to celestial sphere in the optical center of the plate. Positions of minor planets are designated by filled circles.

The moment of observation and position of the center in right ascension and declination are indicated on margin. Position of the center is also marked by sign + in plot.

User has possibility to generate vectors of the diurnal movements of minor planets by clicking on Daily motions and to erase them by repeat clicking.

To mark coordinate net in plot, first select Plate in menu bar and then Coordinate net in drop-down menu. To erase it click again.

To get information on number, coordinates and magnitude of special object bring the cursor into contact with it and click. The planet will be circled by open ring whereas Planet Info with necessary information will appear on the side of plot.

If you like to change currently used colors for background, sky, objects, coordinate net, etc or fonts used for coordinates, inscriptions etc, select Plate item in task bar and then select Options... in drop-down menu. In the Plate: Colors and Fonts dialog box chose parameter needed and change it in accordance with available examples of color, fonts, sizes, etc. and press OK.

User has possibility to save plot of sky or to print it using standard means. To save the file select File item in menu bar and then Save As... in drop-down menu. The only possible type of extension for saving file with plot of plate is ".emf" (it is actual in default of specification). Choose a drive and folder where you want to save the file. The list of files with extension ".emf" in chosen folder will appear. Mark necessary file in the displayed list if you like to change its content (name of the file will appear in the File name field of the dialog box) or insert new name in the field. Click Save button to save the file.

To print plot of plate select File item in menu bar and then take advantage of options Print Preview, Print Setup, Print.

To return to the list of objects select Object list in drop-down menu. To return to the list of centers click on x button in title bar.
