Within the framework of the "Phobos-Grunt" mission the Department has developed, produced and tested instruments for the scientific and housekeeping complexes, including the TV system for navigation and observation (TSNN), a star tracker (BOKZ-MF), an optical solar sensor (OSD) and a system for scientific payload information support (SIOK).

A particular attention was paid to software development to support flyby module landing on Phobos surface based on processing TV-images of Phobos and the starry sky.
