During the second switch on of the Block-D the operations stipulated by the onboard program were not implemented. Block-D did not impart the requirement impulse to the spacecraft and separated from the spacecraft. Due to the MARS-96 spacecraft was not been inserted into the interplanetary trajectory to Mars and during the third revolution around the Earth insert into the Earth's atmosphere and felt in the Pacific.
