Data Sources
ACE Real Time Solar Wind (RTSW) data, Kp index, solar and geophysical forecasts
are contributed by the U.S. Department of Commerce, NOAA, Space Environment
Center and are available to broad community at
http://www.sec.noaa.gov/index.html
Please, read the SEC disclaimer.
The three day Solar-Geophysical Forecast is prepared jointly by the
U.S. Dept. of Commerce, NOAA, Space Environment Center and the U.S. Air Force.
The Kp planetary index is prepared by the U.S. Dept.
of Commerce, NOAA, Space Environment Laboratory. from preliminary data
provided by the contributing stations and the U.S. Geological Survey.
Errors and invalid indices are possible.
Solar wind and magnetic field data are provided in the
near-real time by the ACE mission.
Advanced Composition Explorer (ACE) spacecraft is a NASA mission launched
at August 25, 1997 to the orbit around
L1 libration point 1.5 million km from Earth and 148.5 million km from
the Sun.
Real-Time Solar Wind (RTSW) data from the Advanced Composition Explorer (ACE)
spacecraft are made available by the Space Envirnoment Center (SEC) of NOAA as
updating data lists and plots. The data are available through the SEC Web
site at URL: http://sec.noaa.gov/ace/ACErtsw_home.html MAG magnetometer instrument for the ACE mission is provided by The Bartol
Research Institute (BRI) in collaboration with the Laboratory
for Extraterrestrial Physics (LEP) at the Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC).
