The Installation kick-Off : final assessment before the departure to the mountain and the installation on-site.
WHEN : typically 1 week before the departure to the mountain. The Installation Kick-off meeting can be held just after the Integration Acceptance meeting.
WHAT :
check that the last release is integrated into the configuration management tool.
check that the on-site installation procedures are correctly described in the
Installation Guide.
check that all critical and serious bugs are fixed, and if not, a
workaround is defined (either in a appendix to the User's manual, or in corresponding Release note.
check all new test results obtained since the Integration Acceptance meeting, if any.
check that all data and test tools required for the non-regression to be
performed on the mountain are available.
WHY : latest verifications before going to the mountain.
HOW : Installation Kick-Off meeting at DFS level, with :
Before this meeting,
The SEG testers will prepare :
an up-to-date list of features / functionalities / performance requirements which are NOT fulfilled (because of bugs) and corresponding workarounds.
the complete list of tests to be re-run on the mountain for non-regression purpose.
The QA manager will prepare :
an up-to-date count of critical, serious, and minor bugs/change requests.
The current Commissioning Plan will be updated after this meeting (usually by the QA manager).
It is strongly recommended that each participant prepares the Integration Kick-off meeting before going to it, in order to save time.
