TEST REPORT FOR P2PP V2-1-3 beta1
==================================

Tests performed from 26/02/2001 to 02/03/2001.
The main goal here was to check whether some new bug fixes were
correctly implemented (See corresponding Release Note), but mostly
if P2PP correctly works with the new CCS MARCH2001 on HP-UX 11.

This release is to be installed on all UTs for DFS MARCH2001.

Tests were performed on following configuration:
** FOR P2PP **

HP-UX wg0arc B.11.00 A 9000/782 2000404527 two-user license
with CCSLite March2001

** FOR BOB (version 1.96) **
wtctest tcuser:~ 532 > uname -a

with FULLCCS March2001

Visitor account, user 1797 or 1901, accessing SEGSRV12.
Some tests with engineering account 52005, accessing SEGSRV12.


Main performed tests
--------------------
* Run P2PP and check main window content using several accounts (visitor,
and engineering).

* Manipulation of folders (create, open, rename, move).

* Manipulation of OBs (create, duplicate, move, delete, verify),
for science and calibration OBs using FORS2 and ISAAC templates.

* Import/export OBs.

* Save as OBD format.

* Synchronize OB's components (where the copy is done from the P2PP main
window).

* View phase 1 targets, download targets.

* Check in / check out, directly accessing DB.

* View obrep2 tables via the DBB.

* Interface to BOB: fetch ISAAC/FORS2 OBs, load OBD file generated by P2PP.


Conclusion
----------
This test session represents an effort of about 16 hours spread over 4 working days.
A lot of time was spent a verifying the "synchronise" bug (item 1246).

The 3 bug fixes addressed by this beta1 are ALL fixed:
- item 1246 ("synchronise bug"). I spend a lot of time on it, and it really seems
to be FIXED now.
- item 1239 ("in some cases, no way to select a Calibration Block from the DB browser").
No way to reproduce it on HP-UX. FIXED.
- item 1245 (period widget limited to period 66"); FIXED

This P2PP version works correctly with CCS MARCH2001 on HP-UX 11:
- fetch of OBs work,
- seems to be FASTER than before.
- the previous bug we had when transfering large OBs seems to be fixed. I was
able to transfer an OBD file of 250K, which is already a big one (40 templates,
each attaching a paramfile).

No critical bug found in this beta1, only 2 High and 3 Minor bugs which are to be solved
AFTER MARCH2001 (next V2.1.x, if any, or V2.2).


Detailed tests results from KH
------------------------------

* "NumberFormatException" when selecting "Reports>ExecutionTime>Selected"
on a specific FORS2 OB. These reports are generated for most of other OBs
(due to new TSF files ?). Due to FORS1 and FORS2 templates allowing the
"Number of Tel. Offsets in CCD Y Direction" parameter to take a non-integer
value.
==> HIGH: to be fixed in V2.2 since there is a workaround (item 1268)

* "IllegalArgumentException" when entering a wrong value in Guide Star
DEC field: MINOR because P2PP doesn't crash and the user can go on entering a
proper value.
==> MINOR: item 1267 for next V2.1.x if any (after MARCH2001). Already fixed in V2.2.

* dot character is not displayed in the TP name field. Only a problem of P2PP
display. The OBD file contains the dot.
==> MINOR. To be fixed for V2.2 only (item 1269).

* already a known bug (your item 1255), but update the bug description in the
P2PP To-Do list (it concerns "User comments", "calibrationReq", "comments" AND
"description" fields which are truncated when they contain several carriage
returns).
==> HIGH: To be fixed in V2.2 only (item 1270), but add it in the list of
known problems for V2.1.3.

* Long comments truncate or even hide the OD grid. To be fixed if we decide
to re-design the P2PP main panel layout.
==> MINOR: to be fixed in V2.2 (item 1271).
