Swedish-ESO 15m Submillimeter Telescope (SEST)

The 15m SEST is designed to observe at sub-millimetric wavelengths (almost radio waves). It was built in 1987 on La Silla. The SEST was decommissioned in 2003, as the operations started at the new APEX telescope on Chajnantor.
