ESO Photo Ambassador Gregory Lambert

Born in 1986 in Switzerland, Gregory studied microtechnology at the Haute Ecole d'Ing†énierie et de Gestion in Yverdon-les-Bains.

After his studies, he worked for three years at ESOòÀÙs La Silla Observatory as a technician at the Swiss 1.2-metre Leonhard Euler Telescope. The combination of meeting astronomers and living in such a dramatic landscape inspired him to buy his first camera to try to immortalise it. He also makes timelapse images and enjoys sharing his work.

Based in Cambridge UK, Gregory is now working on the Next Generation Transit Survey (NGTS), installing 12 telescopes at ESOòÀÙs Paranal Observatory, where he currently spends half of his time. During his free hours, he likes to stare at the sky with his camera looking for the perfect picture.
