Press Conference: European Extremely Large Telescope

A press conference about the European Extremely Large Telescope will take place in Marseille (France) on 30 November 2006, following the "Towards the European ELT" international conference.

The European astronomical research is at a critical juncture with the European Extremely Large Telescope (E-ELT) project being currently defined by its community through in particular ESO, OPTICON and the ELT Design Study, with a decision to proceed designing the facility to be taken end 2006 / early 2007.
