On the road to Chajnantor

The landscape of the high steppe, between 4000 and 4800 metres, is dominated by the bright yellow of the characteristic herbaceous vegetation, known as ���coir��n���. This picture has been taken from the road to the Chajnantor plateau, home of ALMA, the Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array. ALMA is the largest astronomical project in existence and the largest radio telescope in the world.
