Closing in on the E-ELT at sunset and the start of observations
This video sequence is based on an accurate artistòÀÙs rendering of what the European Extremely Large Telescope (E-ELT) will look like once it is complete early in the next decade. The view starts at the bottom of the Cerro Armazones mountain, close to ESOòÀÙs Paranal Observatory, and closes in on the telescope in its enclosure during observations at night. The E-ELT will be the largest optical/infrared telescope in the world òÀÔ the world's biggest eye on the sky.
The design for the E-ELT shown here is preliminary.
