PURPOSE:

Acquisition of data on an atomic structure of biomolecules of glycoproteins E1-E2 of the maximum high resolution to produce effective and safe vaccines of a new generation and develop new antiviral preparations and diagnostic systems.

OBJECTIVES:

Test of the crystallization process, production of crystals of glycoproteins E1-E2 analogs of alpha viruses in microgravity conditions to make the subseauent ground roentgenodiffraction analysis.

EXPERIMENT RESULTS:

Acquisition of data on spatial organization of glycoproteins E1-E2 required to study factors of protection against alpha viral infections, peculiarities of the human immune response and produce new vaccines against hazardous virus diseases.

EXPECTED RESULTS:

Universal biocrystallization cassettes and experiment footage returned to the Earth.
