November 30, 2008. S.P.Korolev RSC Energia - MCC-M,
Korolev, Moscow Region

Following a four-day free flight, during which newly developed systems and equipment were tested, Russian cargo transport vehicle Progress M-01M docked to the International Space Station (ISS).
The vehicle rendezvous with the station, its fly-about, station-keeping and berthing at a distance of 50m were performed in the automatic mode, and at the final phase in the remote operator mode (TORU). The vehicle approached a docking port of the Russian Pirs docking module/compartment. This docking port was contacted at 15:28:10 Moscow time.
The ISS Expedition 18 crew (Russian cosmonaut Yury Lonchakov, US astronauts Michael Fincke and Sandra Magnus working onboard the ISS monitored the rendezvous and docking processes. By decision of the technical management Yu.Lonchakov performed the final rendezvous and docking phase in TORU mode.
The vehicle delivered more than 2.6 tons of cargo to the station, including oxygen, air, propellant, water, food supplies, (including fresh products), science hardware and equipment, onboard data files, crew parcels, video and photo equipment. 321 kg of cargos are intended for the USOS.
The ISS performs a near-orbit flight with the following parameters: minimum altitude of 350.0 km, maximum altitude of 375.2 km. The period of revolution around the Earth is 91.5 min.
The flight control, and vehicle and station system status monitoring during the rendezvous and docking were provided by the lead operational control team (LOCT) formed of S.P. Korolev RSC Energia, Mission Control Center (MCC-M) and space companies specialists (Technical Manager is V.A. Lopota, President of RSC Energia, General Designer, Flight Director is V.A. Soloviev, First Deputy General Designer).
During the final rendezvous and docking operations of the vehicle MCC-M was attended by representatives of the State Commission (A.N. Perminov, Chairman, Director of Roscosmos), Roscosmos, allied companies and organizations, managers and specialists of the Corporation.
By telemetry data and ISS crew reports the ISS onboard systems of the station and vehicle operate as designed.
