Following a two-day free flight, Russian cargo transport vehicle Progress M-64 docked to the International Space Station (ISS).
The vehicle rendezvous with the station, its fly-about and birthing were performed in the automatic mode. The vehicle came into contact with the docking port of Functional Cargo Module (FGB) Zarya of the ISS Russian Segment at 01:39:20 Moscow time.
The vehicle delivered more than 2.3 tons of cargo to the station. They encompass propellant, potable water, oxygen and air, food supplies, including fresh products, equipment for crew life support system, ISS Russian Segment system maintenance, Russian science program. Equipment to be installed in Zvezda module to support a new Russian research module, which integration into the Russian Segment is planned in 2009. 406 kg of cargo are intended for the USOS.
The ISS performs a near-orbit flight with the following parameters: minimum altitude of 338.0 km, maximum altitude of 356.1 km. The period of revolution around the Earth is 91.28 min.
The flight control, and vehicle and station system status monitoring during the rendezvous and docking were provided by the lead operational control team (LOCT) formed of S.P. Korolev RSC Energia, Mission Control Center (MCC-M) and space companies specialists (Technical Manager is V.A. Lopota, President of RSC Energia, General Designer, Flight Director is V.A. Soloviev, First Deputy General Designer).
By telemetry data and ISS Expedition 17 crew reports the ISS onboard systems of the station and vehicle operate as designed.
The ISS Expedition 17 crew consisting of Sergey Volkov (test cosmonaut, Yu.A. Gagarin CTC RGNII, crew commander), Oleg Kononenko (test cosmonaut, S.P.Korolev RSC Energia, flight engineer 1) and Garrett Reisman (NASA astronaut, flight engineer 2) keeps working onboard the ISS.

2. Factory tests of Progress series transport cargo vehicles to be flown to the ISS next year are being performed at S.P. Korolev RSC Energia Assembly and Test Center.
