The beginning of deployment of the Mir orbital complex that became an International orbital laboratory is in orbit. Twenty eight prime crews worked at the station. Twenty seven international expeditions with representatives of 12 countries under the Mir-Shuttle, Mir-NASA and Euromir programs were implemented.

March 13, 1986
Start of the Soyuz T-15 vehicle. Docking with the Mir complex on March 15. Beginning of the complex manned mission.

May 5 - June 26, 1986
Soyuz T-15 orbit-to-orbit transfer from the Mir station to the Salyut-7 station and back was first performed. Delivery cargo of 400 kg from the Salyut-7 orbital station to the Mir complex for later use.

May 21, 1986
Docking of the first Soyuz TM unmanned vehicle with the Mir complex.

February 6, 1987
Start of the Soyuz TM-2 manned vehicle. Docking with the Mir orbital complex.

April 12, 1987
Docking of the Kvant astrophysics module with the Mir station.
