Experiment PKINASE


Objective:

Determine if the inhibition of protein kinase C (PKC) isoform signalling in human monocytes impairs monocyte differentiation.

Tasks:

Characterize the microgravity effect on the activation of PKC isoforms and their spatial distribution.

Science Hardware Used:

  • KUBIK incubator;
  • Glove Box.

Consumables:

  • PKN experiment container (8).

Experiment Results:

PKN return containers (8).

Expected Results:

  • Determine the microgravity effect on PKC regulated genes controlling monocyte differentiation, initiation of apoptosis and cell cycle arrest.
  • Prophylaxis of possible damage of a human immune system in spaceflight.
