Experiment Kvarts-M

Objective:

Study and monitoring in a dynamic mode of space corrosion of the orbital station surfaces under the joint action of upper atmosphere factors during its operational use.

Used science hardware:

• Device SKAN-A ;
• Hardware diagnostic complex.

Description of the experiment:

Diagnostic apparatus (pressure sensor, microdielectric sensors, quartz balance, TV camera) is accommodated on the platform of device SKAN-A. Device SKAN-A makes it possible to remove sensors from the ISS surface at a distance from 0 to 10 m. Each fixed point is used to make a measurement and record parameters under control with their subsequent transmission to Earth.

Experiment results:

Obtaining scientific information of applied significance for enhancing efficiency in the ISS utilization and for designing advanced SC.
