Technical Research on ISS Russian Segment
EST Experiment
Experiment EST forms part of the scientific research program performed by Italian Astronaut Roberto Vittori (ESA) on the ISS in the frame of
ENEIDE ISM Project. The European Space Agency is a customer of the preparation and
implementation of the research program.
Objective:
Verify the functioning in the space environment of particular electronic equipment.
Task:
Testing of industrial grade electronic devices on the ISS RS.
Used Science Hardware:
- EST Electronic Module with a set of industrial electronic equipment (microcontroller, SRAM, FRAM, FLASH, EEPROM memory, FPGA, reading
devices, pressure sensors, impact sensors, temperature and humidity sensors);
- EST battery pack;
- EST power cable;
- EST bonding strap;
- EST pen;
- EST memory card;
- EST video tape Sony DVCAM.
Support Facilities:
- Camcorder DSR PD-150P;
- Camera Nikon D1X.
Experiment Results:
- Samples of industrial electronic equipment exposed on the ISS RS.
- Information on hardware operations recorded in the forms and photo- and video carriers.
