Educational & Humanitarian projects on ISS Russian Segment
Experiment Nanosputnik
Objective:
Processing and launch of technological nanosatelite TNS-0 from the ISS RS.
Used science hardware:
Nanosatellite TNS-0.
Description of the experiment:
Launch of nanosatellite TNS-0 from the ISS RS during performance of EVA operation and further satellite control and conduct of two-way communication sessions with it through global satellite telecommunication system GLOBALSTAR, MGTS and cellular telephony.
Experiment results:
Development testing of the procedure to put satellite of nanoclass (up to 5 kg by mass) into orbit from the ISS RS was successfully conducted, as well as experimental verification of TNS-0 functioning under real space flight conditions. At a later time, it will allow to conduct a number of short-term experiments with changeable scientific loads on platform of TNS-0, for which purpose experimental onboard instruments are expected to be used to make geophysical measurements, provide communication, earth remote sensing and other applications.
The results of this series of experiments can be already used in the development of Russian new space systems for telecommunications, navigation, on-line monitoring of natural phenomena and emergency situations and for other purposes in the next 3...5 years.
