RSC Energia held a session of the Council of Chief Designers for the Russian Segment of the International Space Station
S.P. Korolev Rocket and Space Corporation Energia held a session, chaired by the Corporation President and General Designer V.A. Lopota of the Council of Chief Designers for the Russian Segment (RS) of the International Space Station (ISS).
Heard were the following reports and messages:
- about the progress of preparations for launch of manned transport vehicle Soyuz TMA-12М and the readiness of MTV Soyuz TMA-10М for completion of its mission;
- about the results of the ISS flight, the mission program for the upcoming period, status of the ISS, Lead Operations Control Team and the flight support assets readiness for accomplishing the program for the next expedition;
- about the Soyuz-FG launch vehicle readiness for launch of the Soyuz TMA-12M МTV;
- about the readiness of the launch complex for launch of the integrated launch vehicle carrying MTV Soyuz TMA-12М;
- about the status of the ISS US Segment and its readiness for the next phase of the mission;
- about the readiness of MCC-M equipment and personnel for the descent and landing of MTV Soyuz TMA-10М and launch of MTV Soyuz TMA-12М;
- about the readiness of the search and rescue assets for performing work in support of Soyuz TMA-10М landing and Soyuz TMA 12М launch;
- about the health status of the crews of ISS-37/38, ISS-39/40 and the readiness of supporting assets;
- about the readiness of the ISS-37/38 crew for descent and the ISS-39/40 crew for carrying out the program for upcoming activities on the ISS.
Also were heard supplementary reports, announcements and findings of chief designers, responsible representatives of organizations and companies participating in the ISS program.
The Council of Chief Designers made a decision to approve the following RSC Energia proposals on:
- returning the crew of ISS-37/38 onboard Soyuz TMA-10М on March 11, 2014;
- the plan of upcoming work to prepare Soyuz TMA-12М for launch on March 26, 2014;
- permitting re-use of some instruments and assemblies within Soyuz TMA-12М;
- delivering to the ISS a crew of three;
- clearing the ISS RS to proceed with the next phase of the ISS operation.
Based on the reports and supplementary reports and announcements it was decided to continue work in compliance with the approved ISS flight program.
Taking part in the proceedings of the Council of Chief Designers were representatives of Roscosmos management, foreign space agencies, subdivisions of RSC Energia, organizations and companies implementing the ISS program.
