Progress M-07M transport cargo vehicle was launched from Baikonur Cosmodrome at 14:22:57 Moscow time.

The objective of the launch is to ensure further in-orbit operation of the International Space station (ISS) in compliance with the obligations of the Russian Party under this project.

The prime mission objective is to deliver more than 2.5 tons of various cargo items to the station required to support the crew life and continue the ISS manned operation.

The vehicle was injected into a reference near-earth orbit with the following parameters: inclination of 51.64 degree, minimum altitude of 194.49 km, maximum altitude of 238.68 km, revolution of 88.53 min.

The vehicle onboard systems operate as designed.

The vehicle processing and launch were conducted under direction of the State Commission (chaired by A.N. Perminov, Director of Roscosmos). The Commission made decisions on implementing the processing and launch stages based on conclusions of the Technical Management led by V.A. Lopota, President of S.P. Korolev RSC Energia, General Designer.

According to the telemetry information and reports of the ISS Increment 24 crew, the station onboard systems operate as designed. The station is ready for vehicle docking.

The vehicle docking is planned on September 12, 2010.

 

 For reference:
  1. Propellant, food, water and consumable supplies, as well as equipment for the ISS US On-Orbit Segment are brought up to orbit in the vehicle compartments.
  2. Under the ISS program currently the following Russian cosmonauts A. Skvortsov, (ISS-24 crew commander), M. Kornienko, Yu. Yurchikhin and US astronauts Т. Caldwell-Dyson, Sh. Walker and D. Wheelock are working in near earth orbit.
  3. Progress М-07 is the 39th Russian space vehicle intended to deliver cargo to the ISS. This is the seventh vehicle of a new series of transport cargo vehicles with improved flight performance characteristics and the 41st vehicle regarding the vehicles which delivered PIrs and Poisk modules.
  4. On September 6 Progress M-06M cargo vehicle completed its free flight and was de-orbited into the Pacific Ocean.
