Expedition 23/24 (ISS-23/24)
MAIN TASKS OF THE INCREMENT
IN THE ISS-23 PHASE
(March 18, 2010 - June 2, 2010)
- Launch of two ISS-23/24 Russian crewmembers and one NASA (USA) crewmember by Soyuz TMA-18 spacecraft;
- Docking of Soyuz TMA-18 spacecraft to Mini Research Module Poisk (MRM2);
- Operational support for loading and undocking of Progress M-03M, Progress M-04M;
- Operational support for docking to Module Pirs (DC-1) and partial unloading of Progress M-05M;
- Redocking of Soyuz TMA-17 spacecraft from Zarya Functional and Cargo Module to Instrument Compartment of Service Module Zvezda;
- Operational support for docking of Space Shuttle orbiters during missions 19A and ULF4. The latter mission is to deliver Mini Research Module Rassvet (MRM1) to ISS;
- Unloading of Mini Research Module Rassvet (MRM1);
- Operational support for loading and undocking of Soyuz TMA-17 spacecraft from Instrument Compartment of Service Module Zvezda (return to the Earth of ISS-21/22 crewmembers);
- Support of the Space Station functionality;
- Performance of the science and application research program and experiments.
The ISS-23 crew consists of 3 persons (March 18 - April 4,
2010) and 6 persons (April 4 - June 2, 2010).
MAIN TASKS OF THE INCREMENT
IN THE ISS-24 PHASE
(June 2 - September 25, 2010)
- Launch of one ISS-24/25 Russian and two NASA (USA) crewmembers by the Soyuz TMA-19 spacecraft;
- Docking of Soyuz TMA-19 to the Instrument Compartment of Service Module Zvezda;
- Monitoring of the COTS vehicle rendezvous to the USOS;
- Partial unloading of Progress M-05M vehicles;
- Operational support for docking of Progress M-06M, Progress
M-07M to the Instrument Compartment of Service Module Zvezda
and unloading of Progress M-06M, Progress M-07M;
- Redocking of Soyuz TMA-19 from the Instrument Compartment of Service Module Zvezda to Mini Research Module MRM1 Rassvet;
- Operational support for docking of Space Shuttle (ULF6 flight);
- Operational support for docking of COTS1 vehicle to the USOS;
- Operational support for loading and undocking of Progress M-06M from the Instrument Compartment of Service Module Zvezda;
- Operational support for loading and undocking of Soyuz TMA-18 from MRM2 Poisk (return of three ISS-23/24 crewmembers to the Earth);
- Implementation of extravehicular activity - one Russian EVA on the Russian Segment of ISS;
- Support of the Space Station functionality;
- Performance of the science and application research program and experiments;
- Participation in flight design tests of MRM1 Rassvet and MRM2 Poisk.
The ISS-24 crew consists of three persons (June 2-18, 2010),
six persons (June 18 - September 25, 2010).
