EDUCATION:
In 1986 he finished secondary school in Irkutsk.
In 1987 Ivanishin entered Chernigov Higher Military Pilot School (HMPS) and in 1991 he graduated from it with a gold medal.
In 2003 he graduated from Moscow State University of Economics, Statistics and Information Science.

FAMILY STATUS: married.
Wife: Svetlana Ivahishina. Son: Born in 1993.

Pilot-Cosmonaut of the Russian Federation.
Gold Star Medal of Hero of the Russian Federation, Medal for Combat Heroism Second Class, Distinguished Service Medal First, Second and Third Classes, Air Force Achievement Medal, 50 Years of the First Manned Space Flight, as well as NASA Medals such as Space Flight Medal and Distinguished Public Service Medal.

WORK EXPERIENCE:
Since 1991 he served in combat air force units.
Upon graduation from Chernigov Higher Military Pilot School he began military service in Borisoglebsk, Voronezh Region where he flied MiG-29.
Since 1992 Ivanishin served as a master fighter pilot of aviation regiment 159 where he flied Su-27.
He took part in selection of cosmonauts in 1997 but was not selected because of his height.
On May 29, 2003 at the meeting of the Interdepartmental Commission for the cosmonaut selection he was enlisted in the cosmonaut detachment to pass general space training (GST).
From June 16, 2003 to June 28, 2005 he passed general space training (GST) and state examinations with mark "excellent".
At the meeting of the Interdepartmental Commission on July 5, 2005 he was qualified as a test cosmonaut.
In July 2008 it was reported that he was assigned to the ISS-25/26 backup crew. However, in April 2009 his assignment was not confirmed.
In October 2008 it was reported that he was assigned to the ISS-27/28 backup crew. However, in July 2009 it was reported that he was assigned to the ISS-26/27 backup crew.
In October 2009 at the Baikonur cosmodrome Ivanishin participated in training in Mini Research Module (MRM2).
In January 2010 it was reported that he was assigned to the ISS-29/30 prime crew.
At a period of January 20 to February 2, 2010 he as a member of the preliminary crew together with Anton Shkaplerov and Daniel Burbank participated in a two-day training for survival in the desecrated area in case of emergency landing of the descent vehicle. These trainings weкe provided in the forest near Moscow.
At the meeting of the Interdepartmental Commission for selection of cosmonauts and their assignment to the crews of the manned vehicles and stations on April 26, 2010 he was qualified as Yu.A. Gagarin CTC detachment cosmonaut.

On November 24, 2010 at the Cosmonaut Training Center Ivanishin together with Michael Fossum and Satoshi Furukawa passed preflight examination training on Soyuz TMA simulator. On November 25, 2010 the crew passed the examination training on the ISS Russian Segment.
On November 26, 2010 by the Interdepartmental Commission Ivanishin was approved as the backup crew commander of the Soyuz TMA-20 vehicle. On December 14, 2010 at the meeting of the State Commission at the Baikonur cosmodrome he was approved as the backup crew commander of the Soyuz TMA-20 vehicle.
During the launch of Soyuz TMA-20 TV on December 15, 2010 Ivanishin was a backup of the vehicle commander.

On March 4, 2011 at the Cosmonaut Training Center he together with Anton Shkaplerov and Daniel Burbank passed the examination training on the Soyuz TMA simulator. On March 5, 2011 the crew passed the preflight examination training on the ISS Russian Segment. The Commission of the Cosmonaut Training Center appreciated the crew operation during the integrated two-day training with an excellent mark.
On March 11, 2011 Ivanishin was approved as a flight engineer of the Soyuz TMA-21 vehicle backup crew by the Interdepartmental Commission at Yu.A. Gagarin CTC.
On April 4, 2011 at the meeting of the State Commission at the Baikonur cosmodrome he was approved as a flight engineer of the Soyuz TMA-21 vehicle backup crew.
During the launch of Soyuz TMA-21 TV on April 4, 2011 Ivanishin was the vehicle flight engineer backup.

On August 22, 2011 at a meeting of the State Medical Board at Yu.A. Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center Anatoly Ivanishin was recognized fit for space flight as a flight engineer of the prime crew of Soyuz TMA-22.
On September 1, 2011 at the Cosmonaut Training Center he together with Anton Shkaplerov and Daniel Burbank passed the examination training on the ISS Russian Segment. On September 2, 2011 the crew passed preflight examination training on the Soyuz TMA simulator.
On November 12, 2011 at a meeting of the State Commission for flight tests of manned spacecraft Anotoly Ivanishin was approved as a flight engineer of the prime crew of the Soyuz TMA-22 MTV.

He performed his first space flight at a period of November 14, 2011 to April 27, 2012 as a flight engineer of Soyuz TMA-22 and a flight engineer of ISS-29/30.
The mission duration was 165 days 7 hours 31 minutes.

In October 2014 at a forum of journal Cosmonautics News it was reported that Ivanishin was assigned to the crew of ISS-50/51 Expedition. However at a meeting of the Interdepartmental Commission held on December 16, 2014 his assignment was not confirmed and he was appointed to the backup crew of ISS-46/47 Expedition and the prime crew of ISS-48/49 Expedition.
On February 2-4, 2015 he together with Takuya Onishi and Kathleen Rubens passed a two-day training for actions in case of an emergency landing in the wooded-marshy area in winter. For 48 hours the crew practiced operations necessary for survival in case of the descent module emergency landing.
On March 20, 2015 it was reported that Ivanishin could change Yury Malenchenko in the prime crew of Soyuz TMA-19М (ISS-46/47 Expedition).
