Engineering Department
ED is an engineering center for consumer goods manufacturing, which ensures a complete cycle of preproduction from selection
of goods offered for production to developing the manufacturing methods for their manufacture and a subsequent process monitoring
of manufacturing these goods within overall consumer goods production.
ED involves design office developing goods and process department, whose specialists are engaged in sheet forming,
metalloid processing, machining, line assembly and testing.
Development and control of manufacturability are carried out within the PRO/Engineer system, including the following
modules: Sheet Metal for sheet froming; Plastic Adviser for spillage control of plastic parts; PRO/Mechanica for
dynamic, kinematic and strength analyses; the module for composite surfaces design. The developments for time reduction
are being carried out within a single project using the PRO/Intralink.
Engineering Department of the consumer goods manufacture, which has acquired a broad experience in starting mass production
of such products as vacuum cleaners, food processors, mulitmixers and the like, can offer the following engineering services:
- Marketing research on the customer-specified goods
- Studies of consumer and technical characteristics of the customer- provided commodity samples. The
studies are conducted on the basis of laboratories and stands available at the enterprise.
- Development of article design based upon customer's input data, including generation of a 3D-Model of
an article and creation of design-mock-up by 3D-Model using quick prototyping methods.
- Generation of design documentation and 3D-Model of the parts and article as a whole guided by Customer's
Technical Specification with the process inspection of the development based upon Customer's or ZEM's manufacturing conditions.
- Customer's design documentation updating to suit the conditions of specitic or ZEM mass or full-scale production.
- Production of dimensional mock-ups of articles by quick prototyping methods to check their assembly capability and operation.
- Production of pilot lot of articles by quick prototyping methods with no preproduction.
- Analysis of Customer's design documentation for manufacturability and development of the manufacturing process to suit specific
or ZEM-based production.
- Drawing up the specifications for equipment and production tooling, including dies and molds, for ZEM-based or other production.
- Equipment and tooling order, process inspection and acceptance to suit Customer's needs.
The work is carried out within the PRO Engineer system, including the following modules: Sheet Metal for sheet forming;
