Grand meeting in honour of the 50th anniversary of RST faculty at MGTU after N.E. Bauman
S.P. Korolev Rocket-Space Corporation "Energia" hosted a grand meeting devoted to the 50th anniversary of the Rocket-Space Technology faculty at MGTU after N.E. Bauman.
This festive event was attended by the faculty graduates, veterans and officers; the university representatives; Korolev science city council heads, RSC Energia top managers and officials of other leading enterprises.
The meeting was opened by Professor A.F. Dorofeev, the faculty dean.

Soyuz TMA-02M space vehicle crew has returned to Earth
At 06 hours 25 minutes Moscow Time, descent module (DM) of Soyuz TMA-02M transport manned vehicle (TMV) performed soft landing in preset area to the north of the town of Arkalyk, Kazakhstan. All DM deorbiting, search and landing operations had gone off nominally.

Building new comfortable houses for Corporation employees
S.P. Korolev Rocket and Space Corporation Energia goes on with its activities aimed to perform an important social task it undertook of providing the employees with a modern comfortable housing.
At the present time, in the residential area of the 1st phase construction preparations are underway for acceptance of multistory house No.1 and a two-level under ground garage for 453 car parkings for its tenants; all amenities are being built on the territory under construction, as well as the sixth and seventh floors of multistorey dwelling house No.2 and the 2-storey shop built against it are being erected.

Meeting of RSC Energia Scientific-Technical Board Section #4 (Manufacturing and Technologies) was held
S.P. Korolev Rocket-Space Corporation Energia hosted the meeting of the Corporation Scientific Technical Board Section # 4 (Manufacturing and Technologies) on the subject "Advanced Technology of Friction Welding with Stirring for Building Advanced Pressurized Bodies of Transport Vehicles and Modules".
At the meeting, the main report was presented by the section chairman, RSC Energia's first Vice-President, ZEM General Director A.F. Strekalov. Also the reports of A.D. Plotnikov, the Corporation Deputy Head of Material Science Division, and I.D. Makhin, the chief welder at RSC Energia's ZEM, were heard.

Conclusion of the XIXth Scientific-Technical Conference of young scientists and specialists
The XIXth Scientific-Technical conference of young scientists and specialists concluded its work at S.P. Korolev Rocket-Space Corporation Energia.
At the meetings of its 12 sections 365 representatives of the 54 leading space industry enterprises and higher educational establishments had spoken. 295 reports were heard, including the 151 reports from RSC Energia specialists.
At the final plenary sessions the names of the winners were called. Their developments and research works proved to be most topical for solving scientific-technical problems aimed at further development of national cosmonautics.

Soyuz TMA-22 spacecraft has docked with ISS
The Russian manned transportation spacecraft Soyuz TMA-22 has docked with the International Space Station (ISS).
The spacecraft approached ISS after two days of free flight in low Earth orbit. Approach to the space station, its fly-around, stationkeeping and docking were performed normally, in automatic mode.
The initial contact with the docking port on the research module MRM-2 Poisk of the Russian segment of the space station occurred at 09:24 AM Moscow Time.

Soyuz TMA-22 manned transportation spacecraft launched towards ISS
In accordance with the mission plan of the International Space Station (ISS) and Russian commitments under this international project, a manned transportation spacecraft Soyuz TMA-22 was launched from Baikonur launch site at 08:14:04 AM Moscow Time.
The objective of the launch is to deliver to ISS a crew of three in order to bring the crew of the Expedition (ISS-29/30) up to six.

The conference plenary meeting was opened by the chairman of the conference organizing committee, the first deputy General Designer, RAS academician V.P. Legostaev.
Prime scientific consultant at RSC Energia, RAS academician B.Y. Chertok and the Doctor of Medicine, Professor N.S. Koroleva, the daughter of the rocket-space systems General Designer, practical cosmonautics founder, academician S.P. Korolev, addressed the audience with the speech of welcome.

The State Commission held its meeting at Baikonur launch site where the primary and backup crews for Soyuz TMA-22 were approved and the readiness of the space launcher system was confirmed.

Soyuz-FG launch vehicle was rolled out from the integration building to the launch pad. Soyuz-FG launch vehicle with Soyuz TMA-22 transport vehicle is installed on the launch pad. L-2 days activities have been started.

A decision on rollout of the launch vehicle with the Soyuz TMA-22 transport manned spacecraft to the launch facility and its preparation for launch planned for November 14, 2011 was adopted.

Russian logistics spacecraft Progress M-13M, after three days in free flight, has docked with the International Space Station (ISS).
The initial contact with the docking port on the Pirs Module of the ISS Russian Segment occurred at 15:41:35 Moscow Time.
Approach to the space station, its fly-around and stationkeeping were performed in automatic mode.
