European Automated Transfer Vehicle ATV-2 Johannes Kepler began to operate within the International Space Station Russian Segment (ISS RS). The vehicle is located on the rear axial docking unit of Service Module Zvezda (its berthing was provided on 24.02.2011 at 18:59:03 Moscow Time).
The vehicle rendezvous and docking to the ISS were provided in the automatic mode under the control of Russian (Korolev) and European (Toulouse, France) Mission Control Centers and Russian cosmonaut A. Kalery working onboard the Station.

The training sessions were held at S.P. Korolev Rocket & Space Corporation Energia under the training program of the International Space Station (ISS) Expedition 28/29 crews.
The Corporation specialists took lessons with Russian cosmonauts S. Volkov and O. Kononenko in work with Zveno-B hardware and mathematical software replacement procedure of the ISS Russian Segment onboard computer system. Besides, they were acquainted with video photographic equipment available onboard, procedure of mini spacecraft Kedr processing and launch.

Twenty five years ago on February 20, 1986 Core Module (CM) of the Mir Multi-Module Orbital Complex began to operate in near-earth orbit.
The Mir Complex is the first in history multi-purpose International Orbital Center. It became the flight range for tests in realistic conditions of many technical solutions and technological processes used on the International Space Station.
We congratulate participants of work under the Mir Orbital Complex Project with the 25-th anniversary since the day of launch of its Core Module which is the key element of the Complex.
We wish You all good health, well-being and creative achievements on the selected life road for the space exploration and development in the interests of the Earth civilization.
