Book S.P. Korolev Rocket & Space Corporation Energia in the first decade of the XXIst century Book S.P. Korolev Rocket & Space Corporation Energia in the first decade of the XXI century came off the press. It is volume III of the Corporation history Editor-in-chief is V.A. Lopota.
The book appearance coincided with the 65-th anniversary of the Corporation establishment and the 50 years of the manned cosmonautics. It is the fruit of the joint activities of a large creative group of authors, editors, proof-readers, designers, pagemakers. The educational and fascinating book which undoubtedly will attract attention of a wide circle of readers is the result of their fruitful work.

Events marking the 65th anniversary of the Corporation S.P. Korolev Rocket and Space Corporation Energia held events marking the 65th anniversary of the company.
On the morning of August 25, managers and representatives of subdivisions within S.P.Korolev RSC Energia, veterans of the Corporation, representatives of the Administration and the general public of Korolev, the town of science, cosmonauts, young scientists and specialists laid flowers to a memorial plaque and a monument to the outstanding scientist and designer, the founder of the company, academician S.P.Korolev located on the Corporate premises.
In the afternoon, a delegation from RSC Energia and Korolev, the town of science, laid flowers at the memorial plaques and monuments to S.P.Korolev located in the town, to the monuments to outstanding figures of our country's space science and hero cosmonauts in the Heroes Alley within the memorial complex of the Cosmonautics Museum, at the Kremlin wall, and at burial places in Moscow.

The launch of CV Progress M-12M A Soyuz-U launch vehicle (LV) carrying an unmanned supply spacecraft Progress M-12M was launched from the Baikonur launch site at scheduled time.
The purpose of the launch was to support further in-orbit operation of the International Space Station (ISS) in accordance with Russian commitments under the project.
The main objective of the mission was to deliver to the Space Station various cargoes for life support, systems and scientific equipment and propellant components that are needed to continue the ISS mission in manned mode and provide living and working conditions for the crew.
According to preliminary data, in the course of third stage operation 325 seconds into the flight of the LV, propulsion system malfunction was detected, and its emergency shut-down ensued. As a result the supply spacecraft did not reach its target orbit.
To investigate the accident, a commission has bee set up consisting of representatives from Roscosmos and organizations in the rocket and space industry.

The Russian Federation Prime Minister V.V. Putin is visiting the RSC Energia stand at the MAKS-2011 In Zhukovsky, Moscow region, the 10th International Aerospace Show (MAKS-2011), which was held on August 16 through 21, has completed its work.
The Corporation's stand, which was a part of the joint exhibit of the Federal Space Agency (Roskosmos), was a continuous focus of attention for a great number of visitors, among whom there were specialists from aviation and space companies of Russia and other countries, scientists, representatives of business circles, university students and teachers, veterans of the industry, journalists, aerospace aficionados.

Soyuz-U launch vehicle on the launch pad At Baikonur launch site the preparations continue for the launch of Progress M-12M cargo vehicle under the International Space Station program.
Soyuz-U launch vehicle was rolled out from the integration building to the launch pad. Soyuz-U launch vehicle with Progress M-12M transport vehicle is installed on the launch pad. L-2 days activities have been started.

Soyuz-U launch vehicle with orbital module At Baikonur launch site the preparations continue for the launch of Progress M-12M cargo vehicle under the International Space Station program.
Orbital module of the Soyuz-U launch vehicle, containing Progress M-12M spacecraft was integrated with the Soyuz-U launch vehicle in the processing facility.
Technical management meeting and Government Commission meeting were convened. A decision is made to roll out Soyuz-U launch vehicle with Progress M-12M transport vehicle to the launch pad.

Signing of the Agreement on foundation International Space Center OAO RSC Energia after S.P. Korolev together with the Skolkovo Fund will set up International Space Center to be located both in Skolkovo Innovation Center and in the city of Korolev, Moscow Region.
Today the Agreement on setting up International Space Center (ISC) has been signed by the Skolkovo Fund and OAO RSC Energia after S.P. Korolev representatives within the framework of MAKS - 2011 International Aerospace Show.
Among those who have signed the Agreement were the following persons: OAO RSC Energia President, General Designer V.A. Lopota, the President of the Skolkovo Fund V.F. Vekselberg.

Building new comfortable houses for Corporation employees S.P. Korolev Rocket and Space Corporation Energia goes on with its activities aimed to perform an important social task it undertook of providing the employees with a modern comfortable housing.
At the present time, in the 1st - phase residential area decoration works at multistory dwelling house No. 1 and two-level underground garage for 453 car parkings for its tenants are nearing completion; all amenities are being built on the territory under construction. Also the first three floors of multistorey dwelling house No. 2 and the basement of the 2-storey shop built against it are being erected.

Progress M-12M cargo vehicle Prelaunch processing of transport cargo and manned space vehicles Progress M-12M and Soyuz TMA-22 under the International Space Station Program is underway.
Space vehicle Progress M-12M loaded with propellant and compressed gases has been delivered to SC ATF for performance of final processing operations.
In parallel, TMV Soyuz TMA-22 is getting ready for testing Kurs rendezvous and docking system in anechoic chamber.

German Titov Fifty years ago, i.e. on August 6-7, 1961 the second manned space vehicle Vostok created in OKB-1 (now RSC Energia after S.P. Korolev) was successfully launched under the lead of General Designer S.P. Korolev.
On August 6, 1961 at 08 hours 59 minutes 57 seconds Moscow Time, launch vehicle Vostok launched from Baikonur Cosmodrome inserted into near-earth orbit space vehicle Vostok-2 operated by Cosmonaut-2 German Stepanovich Titov.
We congratulate You, veterans-participants who contributed to Vostok-2 space vehicle prelaunch processing and flight, as well as RSC Energia employees, rocket and space industry enterprises and organizations on this remarkable date! We wish everybody robust health, new creative successes in further development of cosmonautics, personal happiness!
