The Russia's Space Forces Day has only been celebrated in our country since relatively recent times, since 2006. According to a Decree of the RF President, the date chosen for the holiday was October 4. The date was chosen for a good reason: It is well known around the world, it is forever associated with space and our victories in space exploration. On October 4, 1957, the very first Earth satellite was launched from the Baikonur launch site, ushering in the space age on our planet. This historic event was prepared by, among others, the space forces, which appeared in the USSR in 1955. On December 1, 2011, they were reorganized into Aerospace Defense Forces, and since August 1, 2015 they have been reinstated as a branch of Aerospace Forces.

Tomsk Polytechnic University made it into the World University Rankings

Tomsk Polytechnic University, with which RSC Energia has a successful collaboration, for the first time in its history made it into one of the most prestigious world university rankings, those published by the Times Higher Education (THE). The TPU immediately placed high on the list of group 251-300 and became one of the three Russian universities, which made it to top 300. Higher rankings are only held by the Moscow State University (the 161st position) and Saint Petersburg State Polytechnic University (group 201-250).

Progress M-29M delivered to the ISS about 2.5 metric tons of cargo

The cargo transportation spacecraft Progress M-29M has successfully docked to the aft docking port on the propulsion compartment of the Service Module (SM) Zvezda of the International Space Station (ISS).
The launch vehicle Soyuz-U carrying Progress M-29M was launched from Area 1 ("Gagarin's launch pad") of the Baikonur Cosmodrome on October 1 at 19:49:40 Moscow Time.The spacecraft used a "quick" six-hour flight profile to rendezvous with the station. The docking was accomplished on schedule during the 5th daily orbit of mission in fully automatic mode.

Progress M-29M logistics spacecraft launched to ISS

The cargo transportation spacecraft Progress M-29M developed and built by RSC Energia has been successfully put into a low Earth orbit by a launch vehicle and is now headed towards the International Space Station (ISS).
The launch vehicle Soyuz-U carrying Progress M-29M was launched from Area 1 ("Gagarin's launch pad") of the Baikonur Cosmodrome on October 1 at 19:49:40 Moscow Time. According to telemetry data, the spacecraft separated from the third stage of the launch vehicle normally at the expected time.
