Dear Mr. Batanov, I am delighted to inform you that Prof. Boris Pshenichner whom you have nominated was selected by the International Astronautical Federation to receive the 2015 Frank J. Malina Astronautics Medal for his outstanding contributions to space policy decision-making, space history, policy analysis, and the education of individuals who have gone on to important policy, management, and analytic positions. This award has been presented annually since 1986 to educators who have demonstrated excellence in taking the fullest advantage of the resources available to them to promote the study of astronautics and related space sciences. The 2015 Frank J. Malina Astronautics Medal consists of a medal which is normally presented at the conclusion of our annual International Astronautical Congress. This year's 66th International Astronautical Congress will be held in Jerusalem, Israel from 12 - 16 October 2015, where this and several other IAF awards will be presented during our closing ceremony on Friday 16 October 2015. We hope that Prof. Pshenichner will be able to join us on that occasion and personally receive the Malina Award. We would like to thank you for your nomination of this outstanding person.
