Third: Create a session on elleba, and associated processes
Use the pop-up menu to create an elleba window ``Xterm - elleba''. The default directory is $disk1:[corr]: and elleba is running Open VMS not Unix or Linux, so note the different operating system commands.
Type in the elleba Xterm
E$ lbacop
and three DecTerms will start automatically.
In one of the DecTerms, type;
E$ | start_windows |
which will create a number of iconised auxiliary correlator windows not normally of interest to the new user.
In the same DecTerm, type;
E$ | sw |
E$ | lbaboss |
which creates an ethernet link to lbacor running on lbaccc and an interface ``lbaboss'' for typing in commands to the correlator and the S2 units (the VCRs). You should notice now in the lbacor window that the yellow box has gone and is now replaced by a grey box with the state of ``Stopped''.
In another DecTerm, type;

The TVD program is similar to the ``VIS'' program at the Compact Array. TVD allows the display of selected products as a function of time. Typical commands to get started are;
array 1234 | calculate products between antennas (S2 units) 1,2,3 & 4 only |
sel 12 | select products on baseline 1-2 |
sel aa | select products with polarization AA |
tap | display Time (`x' axis) against Amplitude and Phase |
tapd | as above, but plot Delay too |
scale a | auto-scale amplitude display (to accommodate all points) |
sca d -20 20 | rescale delay to 20 nS |
