Accommodation

Central Sydney has a wealth of accomodation options. We have not arranged for a particular hotel for conference participants and ask participants to arrange their own accomodation. Hotels near the powerhouse can be found through this website or your own preferred booking website.

Travel Information

Entry to Australia requires a tourist visa, please ensure that all necessary visa/eVisitor applications have been been made prior to arrival in Australia. Australia has a strict quarantine policy regarding the importation of meat and plant products, heavy fines are issued to travelers importing such products.

Spring in Sydney is the best time to visit with temperatures averaging between 13ТАC (55ТАF) at night and 22ТАC (72ТАF) during the day.

Darling Harbour is located on the edge of Sydney's city centre. Getting to and from Darling Harbour is easy. Upon arrival at Sydney's Kingsford Smith Airport, the airport train will take you to the centre of Sydney (the central business district, CBD). From there, Darling Harbour is a 10-minute walk away (+/- 5 mins depending on exact location). If walking is not a preferred option, Darling Harbour is accessible via taxi (water/land), ferry, bus, monorail or light rail (tram) from the CBD.

The Powerhouse Museum, located near Darling Harbour, houses a diverse collection of unique exhibits and programs around the primary theme of 'human ingenuity'. Currently, this museum also runs the Sydney Observatory which overlooks the Sydney Harbour and is a museum of astronomy as well as a public observatory. The museum also runs programs for children during the dates of the conference. Please sign your children up prior to attending the meeting to make sure that they are looked after.
