Cosmic magnetism
From stellar to intergalactic scales
Australia 7 to 11 June 2010
Welcome
The conference on "Cosmic magnetism" is the third in the "Southern Cross Astrophysics Conference Series" which are held annually in Australia. The conference will be held from June 7 to 11, 2010, at a venue to be decided in Australia.
About 100 participants from around the world are expected. In addition to invited speakers, there is the opportunity for contributed presentations. There will also be room to put up a limited number of posters. Please send your suggested talk title and abstract to George Hobbs, using firstname.surname@csiro.au.
Motivation
The Southern Cross Astrophysics conference series aim to attract experts with wide ranging skills to discuss a particular astrophysical topic. For this meeting we expect to hear talks and have discussions on topics relating to observations of magnetic fields in the Universe - from the weak magnetic inter-Galactic magnetic fields to magnetars and from planetary magnetic fields to the cosmic microwave background.
Visa requirements
All travellers to Australia must have a valid visa before boarding their plane. Participants require either a Short Validity Business ETA or a Business (Short Stay) Visa. Conference participants who are not eligible to apply for an Electronic Travel Authority (ETA) need to request a "Letter of Invitation" to supplement their application.
