Dr Carole Jackson

 

Brief Bio:

 

Carole completed her BA(Hons) in natural science and PhD at the University of Cambridge (1991-1997). Prior to studying, Carole worked in the development of computer systems in the City of London and also for Litton Automation systems as their European MIS manager liaising with major car manufacturers (1981-1991).  Since graduating, Carole has held research positions at the University of Sydney and Mount Stromlo Observatory (ANU). Since 2003 she has been Business Development Manager for CSIRO ATNF, combining business and astrophysics. Carole has published more than 60 scientific papers, and is a Fellow of the RAS and the ASA.

Research Interests:

·         The evolution and space-distribution of powerful radio sources

·         Searching for very high-redshift radio galaxies and quasars

·         Active galaxy life-cycles, hosts and environments

 

SKA Science:

As a member of the International Science Advisory Group for the Square Kilometre Array (SKA) I am involved in developing the science drivers for this telescope.
