SMS2014 Accommodation

Accommodation
IUCAF 4th School on Spectrum Management for Radio Astronomy

NOTE: TAX payements for hotels in Chile:

The hotels usually only accept payment in USD and CLP. Those persons who pay in Chilean pesos will be charged the price of the room plus the 19% VAT. You are exempt of this charge if you pay with US dollars, travellers' cheque, or credit card (US$). This means that passengers paying in US$ can request exportation invoice (factura de exportacion) and then they do not pay the VAT (IVA).

*** NEW Arrangements for Hotels *** (14 Feb 2014)

The Spectrum School has just secured a block reservation at the Atton Vitacura Hotel (www.atton.com)
The rate for participants is US $185. (also see Tax note above)

Deadlines:
* Please book BY 5 March 2014, to allow for processing time.
* These rooms at this rate MUST be confirmed before 7 March 2014 and the block will be released on that date.
* However, cancellations without penalty are permitted until 24 March 2014.

(Because it coincides with Easter vacation of schools in Chile, the week of the spectrum school is considered high season for hotels in Santiago)

To obtain this rate please send an e-mail to: clara@nrao.cl (Carola Lara) with the following information:
* Name and Surname,
* Date of arrival and date of check out
* type of room desired (single, double, etc).

A room will be reserved in your name. You will be charged directly by the hotel.

Important Note: If you already registered with the hotel at a higher rate, you will need to cancel that reservation and follow the instructions above, otherwise the normal (much higher) rate will be charged by the hotel.

*** Additional Hotels in the Vitacura area ***

If you are considering alternative hotels in the Vitacura area, there is a link here (from an ESO meeting last year) with many good lists of hotels in the area and additional links.
