GPS/CSS workshop: final communique
----------------------------------

A few final notes before the workshop next week.

I'm already in Greece. The village looks spectacularly green at the
moment. I am still (obviously) contactable by email. If you need to get in

The web pages have recently been updated. Additions include:
- photos of the village
- map of Tripolis and also a new link to more information on Tripolis
- a draft detailed program of the workshop presentations.

Below is some additional information that has been asked be some people
already.

Electric power
--------------
Greece is on a standard European 240V, 50Hz grid. Plugs are again European
2-pin plugs.

Posters
-------
No standard size has been specified and we should be able to accommodate
most formats. I've been recommending poster sizes of up to 1200x600 mm^2
but again we are willing to be flexible.

Clothes
-------
The weather is good BUT it does get noticeably chilly at nights. Please
come prepared for some chilly evenings e.g. the conference dinner in the
village.
We are also organising a walk in the forest near the village for Thursday
afternoon, so please bring some sturdy shoes if you want to participate.

Meeting point
-------------
The main meeting point is the hotel Arcadia. The buses will depart from
there in the morning, as it is difficult to get a big bus to the other
hotels. So, those not staying at the Arcadia will have to walk there but
it is not more than 10min walk from anywhere.

Taxis from Athens
-----------------
The tariff from Athens airport to Tripolis is E0.44/km (double) and the
distance is just below 200km. With tolls and other fixed charges the fare
should be around E100 and no more than E110.
I will be advising people via email in the next day or so of taxi
arrangements when there are groups arriving at about the same time.

Return to Athens
----------------
We will be organising return transport to Athens as needed while we are
all here. Just let the LOC know your requirements at registration.
