Curtin University of Technology: Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in physics
(continuing position)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A continuing position is currently available in the Department of
Imaging and Applied Physics at Curtin University of Technology, at
Lecturer/Senior Lecturer level.

The appointee will undertake Research within an existing research
group in the Department of Imaging and Applied Physics. Teaching will
include the development and delivery of senior core physics subjects
within courses conducted by the Department.

One of the major areas of research strength in the Department is
astronomy and astrophysics, through the Curtin Institute of Radio
Astronomy (CIRA). Applications for this position from astronomers and
astrophysicists are therefore very welcome.

CIRA currently consists of approximately 30 staff, students and
associates and is Joint Venture partner in the $100m International
Centre for Radio Astronomy Research (ICRAR), along with The University
of Western Australia. The astrophysics research scene in Perth is
therefore dynamic and growing, with ICRAR set to double the number of
astrophysics researchers in Perth within the next two years. The
$100m Australian SKA Pathfinder, the $20m Murchison Widefield Array,
and the $80m Pawsey HPC Centre for SKA Science, along with ICRAR, make
Perth a resource-rich location for astronomy research.

A broad range of opportunities exist within CIRA and ICRAR and
potential applicants are encouraged to contact Prof. Steven Tingay at
CIRA/ICRAR to discuss (Steven.Tingay_at_icrar.<!--nospam-->org).

A position description and application materials are available on the
Curtin website: http://futurestaff.curtin.edu.au/job-vacancies.cfm
(position reference number 1160).
