Research Assistant: Australian Virtual Observatory Programmer
School of Physical Sciences and School of Information Technology &
Electrical Engineering, UQ St Lucia Campus
This position will focus on publishing a number of astronomical data
sets in Virtual Observatory compliant format, creating an astronomical
catalogue matching tool and the implementation of a common shopfront
where users will be able to access all of the Australian Virtual
Observatory data archives with a simple interface.
Further aspects of the position will require testing and implementation
of code to support the functionality and interrogation of the
Australian Virtual Observatory.
In the role of Research Assistant you will be required to actively
contribute to writing research papers and code documentation based on
this project.
You should possess a Bachelor's degree in mathematics, physics,
computer science or other related discipline.
This is a fixed-term, full-time appointment at HEW Level 5 for a period
of one year. The remuneration package will be in the range of $47,960
to $53,715 per annum which includes employer superannuation
contributions of 9% of salary.
