Dear Colleagues,
This email announces the latest update to the Duchamp source-finding
software package. The new version, v1.0.7, is an incremental update to
the code, containing a few bug fixes and an additional feature.
The cube is also now able to be Hanning-smoothed in the spectral
direction prior to searching. This is implemented in a similar way to
the a trous reconstruction, with a single user parameter defining the
smoothing width.
The other main changes have been related to the memory management, so
that Duchamp should now be better able to handle very large files (it
has been successfully run with a 2Gb cube).
All changes are documented in the CHANGES file contained in the
distribution, and the user's guide has been updated accordingly.
The code can be downloaded from the usual place:
http://www.atnf.csiro.au/people/Matthew.Whiting/Duchamp/downloads
Note that there is now a mailing list for Duchamp, to keep in touch with
news and updates.
Instructions on subscribing can be found on the web pages.
Happy finding and a happy christmas & new year,
Matthew Whiting.
