Common Features

See the Karma User Manual section on commonfeatures.

Loading data

See the Karma User Manual section on loadingdata.

Colourtable control

See the Karma User Manual section on colourcontrol.

kubes has some extra colourtables.

Sequences of images

See the Karma User Manual section on movies.

With kview and kubes one can  display sequences of images. A window to control this sequence is under View->Animate   in kview and under loop  in kubes.

Hardcopies

See the Karma User Manual section on hardcopies.

To make a postscript hardcopy of the display, click on the menu button Export in most of the visualisation tools (kview, xray, kpvslice and so on) and select PostScript. In kubes click on print. This will display a window where you can choose the size of the plot and write the plotfile to disk or to the printer. For most tools, existing files are not overwritten unless you explicitely turn of the Auto Increment toggle button, instead, a unique filename is generated based on the name in the Output file dialog box (where you can change the name). For kubes and krot the name of the outputfile is kubes_n.ps where n is a number (1 for the first, 2 for the second file etc. to distinguish different files). Some programs use the program networking facilities of karma. In that case the name of the plotfile is connection.ps.

Zooming

Standard Interface

See the Karma User Manual section on zooming.

This zooming interface is used in most programmes (kview, xray, khuei, kpvslice, krenzo, kshell and koords).

Tom's Interface

Programmes like kubes and krot require you to click (left) on two positions that are the corners of what you want to enlarge. Click on Zoom will allow you to choose to zoom in both directions or only horizontally or vertically. They also have the possibility to zoom in on a position. Choose on the zoom menu In or Out to zoom in or out on the last position clicked on with the mouse.

Resizing/autoscaling

See the Karma User Manual section on resizingdisplays.

Axis Labels

See the Karma User Manual section on axislabels.

Magnifying Glass

See the Karma User Manual section on magnifier.

Spectrum Profiles

See the Karma User Manual section on profiles.

Image Statistics

See the Karma User Manual section on imagestatistics.

kubes and krot do not have this facility.

Viewing Header Information

See the Karma User Manual section on viewingheaders.

Many programmes allow you to inspect the header of the dataset you are currently viewing as an image. Simply press the ``h'' key and the header will be displayed in the terminal window. If you press the ``H'' key, you will get the header without the history.

kubes and krot do not have this facility.

Freezing Events

See the Karma User Manual section on freezingevents.
