A series of Town Hall Meetings are being held in Sydney, Canberra, Perth and Melbourne to discuss the draft of the Mid-Term Review for the Astronomy Decadal Plan 2006 to 2015.
There will be a single meeting in Sydney, which will take place at ATNF starting at 1:30 pm.
The key issues in the draft mid-term review that will be discussed
include:
* International astronomy landscape
* Progress since the 2005 Decadal Plan, and future directions
* Access to 8-m optical facilities
* Long term optical strategy
* ATNF and ASKAP operations funding
* ALMA access
The Review is being prepared by the Mid-Term Review Committee of the National Committee for Astronomy (NCA): Elaine Sadler (Chair), Kate Brooks, Scott Croom, Darren Croton, Brian Schmidt, Lister Staveley-Smith, Stuart Wyithe
