1. Special briefing on the "Mileura wide field array ­ low frequency demonstrator" ­ Tuesday 26 September There will be a short information session briefing by Dr Colin Lonsdale, MWA-LFD project leader on Tuesday 26 September at CSIRO ATNF HQ, Marsfield. Interested space science and industry personnel are welcome to attend. Please see attached invite for full information and ensure you RSVP as per the instructions. 2. Australian SKA Planning office ­ latest Newsletter A "special edition" of the ASPO newsletter (#7) is now available and can be downloaded from www.atnf.csiro.au/news/aspo-newsletter This special issue provides an overview of all SKA-related activities in Australia and NZ. Please feel free to distribute copies to colleagues who are interested in Australian SKA developments. 3. Tenth Australian Symposium on Antennas The Tenth Australian Symposium on Antennas will be held in Sydney, 14-15 February 2007. The website http://www.ict.csiro.au/asa has full details. The deadline for abstracts is 29 September 2007. The meeting is sponsored by CSIRO ICT Centre with the aim of bringing together engineers, scientists and industry representatives working in antennas and related areas to discuss current and projected developments. This Symposium provides a valuable forum for Antenna and RF professionals and is a good opportunity for students to take part in a professional meeting. A $500 prize will be awarded for the best student presentation. If you think your Company/University/Laboratory may be interested in having a small booth to display hardware or software that attendees can view during the morning, lunch and afternoon breaks, please contact me. Also, if you want advertising material for your software and/or hardware products handed out to attendees as part of the Symposium Handouts, please contact Christophe Granet (Christophe.Granet@csiro.au) at CSIRO ICTC. 4. Feature articles on the SKA Articles on the SKA have recently appeared in Australian Science and Science (see attached pdfs)
