Eclipse Day Chartered Coach Option (Circle)

I understand this package includes only pre- and post-eclipse meetings and the eclipse observing site services. I understand that travel to/from Columbia, MO and hotel arrangements are NOT included. I understand that the expected cost is $150.00/person. I request to reserve a total of _________ spaces for the August 2017 Total Solar Eclipse Expedition. My deposit of $75.00/person, payable to Bernard Volz is enclosed. I further understand that the timely payment in full will be due February 1, 2017. I understand that the following cancellation penalties a pply with regard to the tour I am registering for (your application and paym ent of deposit constitute acceptance): 1. Before or on January 31, 2016, no penalty. 2. Between February 1, 2016 and January 31, 2017, $75.00/person penalty. 3. On or after February 1, 2017, 100% penalty (no refund). We reserve the right to update the payment and penalty schedule with notice (via email); any such update will not take effect until 15 days after notice was sent. IMPORTANT NOTES: 1. The $150.00 per person price and does NOT include airfare, hotel rooms, and transportation to Columbia, MO. These are an additional cost to this price and are your responsibility. 2. The price is an estimate and based on the convention center fees, eclipse sit e fees and service charges, incidentals and estimated number of participants as of June 2014. The price is anticipated to increase prior to the tour and the amount of this increase is not currently predictable. 3. The maximum group size for this tour will be 150 participants (75 rooms). The following is the preliminary itinerary for this trip: Sunday, August 20, 2017 Monday, August 21, 2017

Tuesday August 22, 2017

Arrival to hotel in Columbia, MO by this date. Pre-eclipse meeting at the hotel @ 8PM. ECLIPSE DAY! If weather is anticipated to allow viewing at Les Bourgeois Vineyards, Rocheport, MO: Depart hotel about 9:30 AM (~20 minute drive to site) Observe eclipse (~ at 38.9694° N, 92.5499° W): o First contact - 11:45:12 AM CDT. o Totality - 1:11:50 to 1:14:29 PM CDT (2m39s). o Last contact ­ 2:39:47 PM CDT. Enjoy a lunch. Depart for hotel about 3:30 PM Post-eclipse dinner & meeting at the hotel @ 7 PM. Otherwise, the time of departure and return (and post-eclipse dinner & meeting) will depend on how far we'll need to travel based on the weather. Check out of hotel or continue your stay in the Columbia, MO area.

Hotel rooms will be on your own. W e have rooms blocked at the Stoney Creek Hotel in Columbia, MO with a guaranteed rate of $125/night/room excluding taxes. You will be required to contact the hotel directly to book your room(s) - we will provide details on how to book rooms at a later date, please do not contact the hotel until then. W e have rooms blocked for nights of August 18 to August 22. The only meals included in the trip are the Eclipse day lunch (if eclipse viewed at Vineyards), and postEclipse dinner. All other meals are on your own. Travel to/from Columbia, MO will be on your own . If flying into St Louis, MO or Kansas City, MO, there is a shuttle service available to Columbia for ~$108 roundtrip (May 2014 pricing) with 12 daily departures from/to St Louis airport and 5 daily departures from/to Kansas City. More details will be provided. The primary eclipse observing site is Les Bourgeois Vine yards in Rocheport, MO. Totality there is 2m39s at an altitude of 62.9° and azimuth of 180°. W e will have non-alcoholic beverages and light snacks available, with lunch (sandwiches). A cash bar will be available after noon. W e will have access to an air conditioned area (the Bistro), outdoor chairs will be supplied, and electric ity will be available (however, you must bring extension cords and power strips). However, if weather predictions are not favorable, we will head elsewhere - requiring traveling for several hours (most likely to the northwest). W e are still investigating alternate sites. Options for traveling on eclipse day are either on your own or by chartered coach. The coach will be chartered for the full day to accommodate travel to an alternate site and the cost will depend on the number using this option. Please indicate if you expect to use the coach option to aid our planning. Cost will likely be ~$60.00/person.
